The Strauss Capelle Vienna is the authentic Strauss Orchestra, founded by Johann Strauss Father in 1827 and revived in 1977. It performs the waltzes, polkas and marches of the Strauss dynasty in original historical costumes for audiences worldwide. We built a website that matches that heritage: a full-screen video hero, an upcoming-concerts slider with ticket links, a concert calendar, the orchestra’s story and a media section, in English and German.
- The orchestra tours every year across Europe, Japan, South America and China, so the site has to keep up with a long list of dates, venues and ticket links.
- It performs in several formats, from gala and New Year’s concerts to balls and private concerts, each with its own ensemble size and repertoire.
- Its audience reads English and German, and the design had to carry the orchestra’s heritage: the crest, the historical costumes and the Viennese tradition.
The home page opens on the orchestra itself: a full-screen video of a performance, with the crest and a black-and-gold palette around it.
Concerts appear in three places: a slider on the home page, a calendar, and a page for each concert or tour with dates, times, venues and tickets.
The calendar filters by month, year and country, and keeps an archive of past seasons.
A concerts page sets out each format with its ensemble size and repertoire, and every page has an English and a German version.
