Overview

Via Car is a car-rental platform built for English- and Arabic-speaking users. It simplifies reservations for customers and gives administrators full control of vehicles, inquiries, reservations and contracts.

The challenge
  • The business runs two rental brands, Via Car and Drivus, and needed both on one platform, each with its own website.
  • A legacy .NET backend had to be replaced, and its existing data brought across.
  • Customers book in English or Arabic, so every screen needed full right-to-left support.
  • Bookings come from individual customers and from B2B agents, in more than one currency.
  • Drivers collect payments and pay expenses on trips, and every amount has to reconcile with accounting.
Our approach

One codebase serves both brands, and the domain decides whether a visitor sees Via Car or Drivus.

Three apps on one data layer: a public booking site, an admin console and a driver app built as a progressive web app (PWA) shared by both brands.

Next.js (static export), TypeScript and Tailwind on Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Storage, Cloud Functions and Hosting), with Stripe payments and Cloudflare Turnstile. The legacy data was imported into the new platform.

Finance runs on wallets, each with its own transaction ledger, and admin sends settlement requests to accounting.
